A truly unspoilt rural landscape, less than a mile from the pretty village of Longframlington, is the peaceful setting for this fine cottage. Lovingly created within the grounds of the old Dairy boasting spacious, stylish interiors. The cottage boasts its own patio for sitting out and plenty of open grassy play areas.

We’re within easy reach of Holy Island and the wonderful Northumbrian coastline. For retail therapy the Metro Centre and Newcastle city centre are around forty minutes drive.

Pear Tree Cottage officially sits inside the Dark Skies Gold Tier.

Step Inside Pear Tree Cottage

Walk through the main entrance into a spacious lounge with log burning stove, modern open plan kitchen and dining area. Two bedrooms, both en suite, are at each end of the Sitting Room/Kitchen.

One bedroom has a double bed and the other has a Kingsize bed that transforms, via a quality ziplink into two single beds suitable for children. There are built-in wardrobes in each bedroom. Both have a shower room with shower, toilet and washbasin. A travel cot is available.

Wonderful days out are an easy drive away. Along the glorious Northumberland Coast, visitors can discover picturesque fishing villages with excellent pubs and restaurants, boat trips, or enjoy the gentle walking along the coastal path, taking in bird reserves and miles of dune backed, sandy beaches on the way.

Cragside

Enter the world of Lord Armstrong – Victorian inventor, innovator and landscape genius. Cragside house was truly a wonder of its age. 

Cragside is a grade 1 listed country house built into a rocky hillside, and the first house in the world to be lit using hydroelectric power.

Alnwick Castle & Garden

Alnwick Castle is a castle and stately home and the residence of the Duke of Northumberland.

Adjacent to the castle, Jane Percy, Duchess of Northumberland, has initiated the establishment of The Alnwick Garden, a formal garden set around a cascading fountain.

Woodhorn Colliery Museum

Woodhorn offer 800 years of history, experience fantastic events and exhibitions at the award winning Museum and Northumberland Archives.

The museum opened in 1989 and following major redevelopment, reopened in 2006.

Otterburn Mill

Otterburn Mill now have three shops selling high quality men’s and ladies clothing, outdoors clothing, woollen goods and gifts. 

Otterburn Mill is well known for their Pram Rugs, which are passed from generation to generation.

Gateshead Metro Centre

Metro Centre is the largest shopping centre in Europe. Located on a former industrial site close to the River Tyne.

The Metro Centre opened in 1986 and has approximately 342 shops.

Ford & Etal Estates

Situated on the valley of the River Till and centered around the villages of Ford & Etal, the estates covers 15000 acres of land, 1600 acres is forestry and amenity woodland.

In the early 20th century the two estates were united when Lord Joicey purchased Ford in 1907 and Etal in 1908.

Druridge Bay

Druridge Bay Country Park is rich in wildlife and has fantastic landscape with a seven-mile stretch of sand from Amble to Creswell.

Sailing fans can launch their own boats on the parks lake while other exercise enthusiasts can ride, cycle, walk, paddle and surf in the park.

Dunstanburgh Castle

Dunstanburgh castle is an iconic castle ruin located on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Northumberland coastline.

The castle ruin is an exhilarating walk from Craster. Please not that if you are going to take your dog that it will need to keep it on a lead.

Warkworth Castle

Once home to the powerful Percy family who now reside in Alnwick Castle, Warkworth was and remains one of the largest and most impressive fortresses in North East England.

 

A free audio tour through the extensive remains of a great hall, fine gatehouse and the circuit of towered walls. Be king or queen for the day in this great Northumbrian stronghold.

Howick Hall

Howick Hall and Gardens open in February with the ‘Snowdrop Festival’ then in the spring and early summer the Woodland Garden is lovely with beautiful flowers.

Howick Hall Gardens has been rated as one of the top 5 coastal gardens in the country and rated as ‘one of the best 10 gardens to visit this spring’ by Independent Magazine.

Lindisfarne

Dramatically perched on a rocky crag and accessible via a three-mile causeway at low tide only, the island castle presents an exciting and alluring aspect.

The castle is located in what was once the very volatile border area between England and Scotland. Not only did the English and Scots fight, but the area was frequently attacked by Vikings.
